I am going to Road Atlanta next Saturday for the Panoz Racing School track time. Basically I get 4 30 min segments on the track. I have 8 psi with Walbro HO pump. I plan on running it pretty hard. Will my fuel pump be able to handle this stress?? The car will be cooling down for a while between the runs. Opinions would be great, cause Im kinda worried. What do you guys think??? I was thinking I should retard my timing a little more and try to get some Octane booster just to be safe about detonation. Any tips??

I am more than sure it can take the stress. I ran my charger @ 6 psi wide open for a good 8 minutes racing a BMW 740i 6-speed when I first got it. As long as you have the fuel you will be ok. But as you will be accelerating and deaccelerating alot I don't think you will have alot to worry about.

I would be more concerned about running off the track! Have fun but be carefull out there. Road Atlanta is a big track and a JRSC GSR will likely reach top speed on the straight! That can be an intimidating place (for me anyway).

My only concern about running on the Track would be if you ran lean. For example if due to cornering your fuel pump could not get enough fuel into the injectors, becuase of lack of fuel you got some detonation. I have not heard of this problem on any of the Honda's, but I have seen it happen to SC'd domestics, Corvettes, Mustangs, etc.
